Meg the Mad Muggle

It's taken a lot of persuading from various sources but I have finally relented and am reading the Harry Potter books. I don't normally like reading anything favoured by the great unwashed, so I feel quite uncomfortable with the entire business. I'm only on the second book so far and it's very readable but I have yet to see anything that makes the books particularly stand out. My sister says they get better as they go along so I will update you on my progress...

Jill Murphy's "Worst Witch" books were just as good, if not better. Why the hell loads of adults were proud to sit on tubes openly reading Harry bloody Potter I'll never know.

Good luck with your mission though dude.

Shall I save you the job and just tell you who kills who?

Shut your face Steele.

Ah, Worst Witch... Mildred Hubble and Mrs Hardbroom. I remember them well.

I don't think there's anything wrong with reading children's books. Sometimes I find an old favourite when I'm round my parents and it's nice to read them for nostalgia purposes. It's just that there are very few that are at the same standard as a good adult novel though (as in a novel for adults, not porn).

The potter books don't get better really, what you're getting is all you're getting. they're a nice break from reality though! D hasn't read any of them but predicted before JK said she'd be killing off two characters in the last book tat he bets Harry dies in it. i bet so too.
Worst witch ruled! Do you remember the film version with Fairuza Blak and Tim Curry?! I'll look for a pic and put it on my site.

Yes I remember the film! It wasn't as good as the books but was still quite cool.

IF HARRY DIES, DON'T TELL ME OR I SHALL HAVE TO IRON YOUR EARS!
